Have a nice weekend everyone!
It's warmer and warmer, here in Poznań, and I saw yesterday my private ultimate sign of spring - a lady who sells daffodils near bus station. So it must be spring!
And it's definitely high time to look for outdoor activities:
1. If you have time and feel like walking a lot I suggest visiting New Zoo. It's quite big and its elephant house is especially interesting.
2. If you're fond of butterflies, there is an exhibition in Palm House.
3. And in case you are not a big fan of fresh air ;) it's good to know that you can visit almost all museums for free on Saturdays.

I podobno bocian Albert, któremu ktoś kiedyś założył obrączkę z GPS-em, zmierza w stronę Polski...
Zatem w oczekiwaniu na boćki, życzę Wam wiosennego weekendu!

PS Nie zapomnijcie przestawić zegarków:)

Mae'r gwanwyn wedi dod! A gyda gwanwyn - cwningod! ;) A dweud y gwir, mae hi'n tipyn bach o cwningen goresgyniad yn Stary Browar !

Spring is here! At last! Everybody looks so happy and prepared for spring. There is almost no trace of winter clothes on the streets any more.
But, as you can see, not only spring came to Poznań. There is an invasion of bunnies in Stary Browar. There are still purple and white, but not for long...

Zupełnie nieoczekiwanie przyszła wiosna. Niezaprzeczalnie!

CACAO Republika

Dydd Sadwrn diwethaf oedd hi'n glawog a pherffaith i chwilio am le yn clyd gyda siocled, coffi ac amheuthun arall. CACAO Republika ar y stryd Zamkowa tynnu gyda entresol â ffenestri mawr ble bobol yn eistedd fel yn y ffenestri siopa. Mae hi'n awyrgylch tawel yno.
Wyt ti ddim yn gallu tramwy CACAO REPUBLIKA di-hid.
Dw i'n awgrymu ysytlaeth "Czarna Magia" (Hud du) ond pethau arall yn blasus hefyd.

Podczas sobotniego błąkania się po mokrych uliczkach wokół Starego Rynku, zobaczyłam szyld Cacao Republika i przepadłam. Przepadłam w nastrojowym wnętrzu, z nosem przyklejonym do szyby i z pysznym koktajlem o tajemniczej i jakże pociągającej nazwie "Czarna Magia".

Jeśli macie dzisiaj wolny wieczór, polecam koncert Mike'a Absaloma w Dublinerze o 20.00.

If you ever find yourself in a dilemma whether to wait for a table in Chatka Babuni or look for other restaurants, do not hesitate: stay. No matter how long you have to wait, it is worth it. They have the best PIEROGI I've ever eaten (apart from those made by my mother, of course!).  The choice is incredible, the filling varies from meat, vegatables, fruits to chocolate and jams,  and they can be boiled or baked - it's up to you. They are really delicious...

about the goats...

Bob dydd, ar hanner dydd ar ei ben... / Every day, at the strike of 12...

Mae'r drws yn agor a dwy ymladdwr yn ymddangos.../
in the very heart of the city...

 ymladd rwhng geifr yn dechrau!
the battle of the goats begins!

Wyt ti'n weld geifr bob man?/
Now, tell me, don't you see goats everywhere?

Why the goats?

One evening in 1551 the clock master Bartlomiej Wollf finally decided to present the city council and the citizens of Poznan with his new work of art - the commissioned tower clock. For the special opening ceremony all the nobles were invited as well as the city fathers and citizens. Unfortunately the meat that was being cooked in the kitchen for the ceremonial supper fell into the fire and was burnt completely! The assistant chef was told to find new meat immediately as the supper was just about to begin. But it was late and all the butchers were closed and there was no place in the whole of Old Poznan to buy any meat. Disaster loomed for all the kitchen staff, then at the last moment the young assistant saw two goats frolicking around in a green pasture nearby. He grabbed them and ran to the kitchen. The goats understood what was happening and did not wanted to end up in the pot so they ran from the kitchen, climbed the stairs and jumped out of a window right onto the building work on the Town Hall and to the high clock tower.
When the Voivode saw his dinner on the top of the tower prancing about and generally feeling pleased with themselves he began to laugh, and so did the nobles around him along with the townsfolk and city fathers.
The chef was relieved that everything had turned well and everyone was in a good humour. The lack of meat at the feast was overlooked and the Voivode ordered a mechanism built to remind everyone of the funny event.

The legend comes from here

Pwyleg - fy mamiaeth

Heddiw, rhywbeth am Bwyleg, fy mamiaeth. Dwi'n hoff iawn o fy iaith a dw i'n pryderu am rywfaint o geiriau Saesneg yn le o geiriau Pwyleg. Roedd llawer o geiriau neis 'da ni a roeddwn ni yn stopio eu defnyddio nhw, heb reswm...
Y  ffilm yw'r ymgyrch i ofalu am geiriau Pwyleg. Mae'r anifail gyda gair 'KADRY' yn dangos y sefyllfa. KADRY yw gair Pwyleg am HUMAN RESOURCES...
Gofalwch am eich geiriau!
Peidiwch  â  llygru eich iaith chi!

Learn languages but don't forget your own. It should be the first rule of learners. We are sometimes, or always, so fascinated by the new language that we think, speak, write and do everything else in it. And there is nothing wrong with it unless we forget how to use our own language in a correct way and instead, we produce corrupted sentences, contaminated with foreign syntax and strange mixture of words...And we are sometimes even proud of it!
Unfortunately, Polish belongs to the languages in which many traditional words have to step back to create place for English equivalents. Most frequently, because English words are fashionable...
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against English words - I like them;) but I love Polish words and there is nothing wrong with them. Nothing that could make them victims of 'fashion'.
These advertisments are part of social campaign to keep the language pure.
